Show only the most recent 100 items from any Inbox

Sometimes my inbox is very large. If I try to view an inbox while there are many items, it tries to show me ALL the items in the inbox. This is very slow and sometimes times out. I'd like to only see the most recent 100 items based on a date range. If I need to see more, I can change the date range
